Before your appointment:

  • Cosmetic Botox or fillers should be done at least 4 weeks prior to your procedure.

  • DO NOT CONSUME alcohol or take any blood thinners (aspirin, opioid pain killers, fish oil capsules) 48 hours BEFORE your procedure, this will cause bleeding and may affect your results.

  • Discomfort: We use high quality anesthetic creams. Most clients feel little or no discomfort at all. Many take a nap during brow procedures. If you are usually very sensitive, you may experience sensitivity and more pain during your menstrual cycle. We suggest booking Lip Blush or Eyeliner appointments for other times of the month.

  • Stay hydrated & healthy before your appointment. Healthy skin is the best canvas.

  • Diabetics are candidates for permanent makeup but should add 2 weeks to their healing time (6-8 weeks total) before getting a touch up.

  • Thyroid medications can cause poor color retention. You must stop taking Accutane for 1 year before receiving Permanent Makeup.

  • You MUST stop using any lash growth products (Latisse, etc...) for 6 months

  • If you have previous permanent makeup by another artist (even if it's very old), you MUST SEND US A PHOTO before booking so that we can confirm you are candidate and to avoid being turned away at your appointment. Only some previous permanent makeup/tattoo can be covered/corrected, other cases may require removal first.

  • Must not be pregnant or nursing.

  • Chemotherapy must be completed for at least 6 months with a doctor's note of approval for permanent makeup. We cannot perform any cosmetic tattoo procedures while on chemotherapy.

  • 3D Areola & SMP Scar clients: Surgery scars and FUT scars must heal for 12 months. FUE scars must heal for 8 months. If 3D Areola will not be designed on or near scar tissue, we may be able to do the procedure sooner.

  • Stop using any anti-aging products containing retinol or glycolic acids on the brow area 4 weeks prior to your appointment. These products cause poor retention due to encouraging skin cell turnover. Using these products after healing will fade color prematurely.

  • Any waxing or brow shaping should be done at least 2 days before. If you tint your brows, tint at least 2 weeks before or 4 weeks after the procedure.

  •  If you have EVER had a cold sore (even if it was many years ago) or know you carry the HSV-1 virus, you MUST be on an antiviral medication from your doctor for 1 week before & 1 week after your appointment to prevent an outbreak that will affect your results. Be aware that not everyone who has the virus, knows they have it. If you're unsure, please be tested by your doctor before booking a lip procedure.

  • A couple days before your appointment, stay hydrated and gently exfoliate your lips after showering. You can use a lip scrub or make your own with sugar & a small amount of coconut oil. After exfoliating, keep your lips moisturized until your appointment. It is difficult to get even color on chapped, flaky lips and can result in your appointment needing to be rescheduled.

  • You must stop use of lash growth products (Latisse, etc..) for 6 months before procedure. This is VERY IMPORTANT to prevent color migration which can be permanent or require laser removal.

  • Please have lash extensions removed prior to your appointment. Do not get new lash extensions or apply strip lashes while healing (to prevent infections).

  • DO NOT use saline eye drops while healing. Saline, sweat, excessive steam will cause color loss.

After your appointment:

After care is crucial, it is very important to follow these instructions for the full 6 week healing period to ensure proper healing and color retention. Results will vary for all individuals and we can not guarantee your results.

  • Gently wash your new brows every 2 hours the day of procedure. If you will not be going directly home, we can provide you with a packet of tissues to blot lymphatic fluid from your brows. This step is very important for achieving the best color retention.

  • Use a gentle soap (we suggest baby shampoo, CeraVe, Cetaphil) and clean finger tips to gently wash your brows 1-2x per day everyday for 7-10 days or until the flaking has stopped.  DO NOT scrub or pick off flakes. Be gentle. Let them fall off naturally to prevent color loss.

  • Make sure you blot brows completely dry with a clean towel after washing.  Allow NO WATER to collect or sit in the brow area.

  • Only apply either the ointment provided in your aftercare bag/Aquaphor/Grapeseed Oil/Hustle Butter to your brows at 1-3 times per day starting the day after your procedure.  A very small amount (size of a grain of rice) to each brow with clean fingers. Do not use anything that is not approved by your artist first.

  • Very oily skin types may avoid ointment all together but continue to gently wash brows for the 7-10 days.

  • Lips will feel swollen and very dry after your treatment.

  • Apply ointment/Aquaphor on lips several times a day. This should be done for at least 14 days post treatment. Do not allow lips to become dry. This may interfere with healed color.

  • Avoid steam and hot water in the shower during the first week. If flakes become soggy, they may fall off too soon which can cause poor color retention. If this happens on accident and color heals patchy, don't worry. We can replace the color at your touch up.

  • Do not expect your cosmetic tattoos to heal perfectly after the first session. This is a 2 and occasionally 3 step process. Permanent Makeup is completed in stages. Similar to creating a beautiful cake. The first session is just the first layer. BE PATIENT during your healing process. Your results will change and appear different from day to day but don't worry, this is normal.

  • Immediately after your procedure, color will appear bold, darker and more defined. Color may appear more solid and a darker color than desired. Color will be about 40-60% lighter when healed at 6 weeks.

  • Around the end of the first week you will experience flaking and your tattoo may look dry. DO NOT PICK your tattoo, let any dryness fall off naturally. If flakes get picked off prematurely, color loss will result and cause patchy color. Attempting to exfoliate/scrub off flakes can lead to scarring.

  • Your tattoo will take up to 6 weeks to fully heal. When the flaking comes off (around 7-10 days), it is normal for it to look like the color is gone or patchy. This is NORMAL. Color will resurface by week 6 but it will be about 40-60% lighter. Give your tattoo a few weeks and the color will become clearer.  Color will continue to change on a daily basis until all healing is complete. Permanent Makeup stages are usually: Too dark, then peeling, too light, then ready for a touch up to add more color, replace any lost color and also add finishing touches to the design.

  • You may experience itchiness in the brows due to the healing process of the dermal layer.

  • DO NOT expose your tattoo to tanning or the sun during the healing process.  UV Rays can alter the pigment of your tattoo.  After the first 14 days, SPF is important to make your results last longer.

  • DO NOT sweat during first 10 days to prevent color loss.

  • DO NOT run direct water on your tattoo during the first week.

  • DO NOT use Vaseline or A&D on your tattoo. Ask your artist before applying any products to your tattoo.

  • DO NOT use any makeup on the tattoo for 10 days

  • DO NOT go into sauna’s, pools, and steam rooms for 2 weeks.

  • DO NOT get massages or facials or skin treatments during the healing process.

  • DO NOT use exfoliants, retinol acids, or AHA’s on the brow area.  It will fade your tattoo prematurely.

Allow your brows a MINIMUM of 6 weeks to heal before your touch up. It's takes a full 6 weeks for color to resurface. A touch up cannot be done before 4 weeks due to the risk of scarring.

Book your Touch Up appointment 1-3 months after your first session. Touch Ups are not included in the first session price. Please keep the high demand in mind. Touch ups after 3 months require an additional charge.

  • All permanent cosmetic procedures are a multi-session process. Do not expect finished results after the first session.

  • The first session is used to build shape, apply the first layer of color and gain symmetry.

  • The second session (1-3 Month Touch Up) is used to perfect the brows and add color, density and design.

  • This is usually a 2 session process to achieve the desired outcome. Occasionally, 2 touch ups are needed.

  • Some client’s skin may have a harder time retaining pigment and may require additional sessions.

THERE IS NO GUARANTEE OF EXACT RESULTS as everyone’s result will vary due to skin type, lifestyle and the aftercare and long term care of your cosmetic tattoo.

  • Use at least SPF 50 to protect your brows, sun exposure will cause fading and can alter the color of your tattoo.

  • Do not use retinol or chemical exfoliants on/near the brows, this will case the brows to fade faster.

  • Do not do laser your brow area (IPL etc), some lasers may change the color of the ink.

  • We suggest annual Touch Ups to refresh color and maintain fresh results but annual touch ups are often not needed.

Annual Touch Ups

Getting a yearly color boost is the best way to keep your brows looking fresh, sharp, and defined.

However, every client is different! And some may need touch-ups more often than others and some may not need more color for a couple years. A great way to tell if your brows are due for a touch-up is to look out for the following statements:

✨ Your brows have noticeably shifted in color, to look a little too cool or too warm

✨ Your brows have lightened enough that your natural hair looks darker than the tattoo, and/or now you want to wear brow makeup again

✨ The edges are losing definition and becoming hard to see clearly

If more than 2 of these statements are true, then it might be that time to get your next appointment scheduled!
