Must not be pregnant or nursing Must be willing to read the Pre/Post Care page to be prepared for the healing process and follow artist's aftercare instructions and advice. Clients who are prone to keloids are not candidates Chemotherapy must be completed for at least 6 months with a doctor's note. We cannot perform cosmetic tattoo procedures while receiving chemo, radiation or other treatments. Clients with glaucoma are not candidates for permanent eyeliner Clients who use any topical lash growth products such as Latisse MUST stop use for 6 months before booking Permanent Eyeliner [EXTREMELY important]. "The Ordinary Lash & Brow Serum" is an exception to the rule because it does not contain Prostaglandin (the ingredient in most Lash Growth products and Glaucoma eye drops that can cause pigment migration which may be permanent.) Must not use Accutane for 1 year before any procedure Let your artist know about medical conditions and medications before your appointment. Some medications may effect color retention. For example: some but not all Thyroid medications We want you to be happy and choosing the right artist is key. Every artist has their own unique style. If your vision does not align with our art style or area of expertise, we may be able to suggest another wonderful local artist who can offer the style you desire. If this is your first time getting Permanent Makeup, it's completely normal to be a little nervous but if a client seems too nervous, very unsure or anxious about the procedure, we may suggest going home to think about it more, do some more research and wait until you are ready. For the experience to be fun, positive and exciting, you must be ready for permanent makeup and able to trust your artist and trust the process. We do not offer refunds or laser removal. Permanent Makeup is very low maintenance, not no maintenance. Touch Ups are required to maintain results. We recommend annual touch ups. ❤️Cosmetic and Paramedical Tattooing can be a fun and life changing experience. We strive to create a positive, kind, uplifting experience for our clients & artists. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason including but not limited to: impolite/aggressive/poor attitude, unrealistic expectations, price haggling, dishonesty about factors that are important for the safety/results/desired outcome of the service or procedure or inability to adhere to store rules, policies and Tattoo Procedure Pre/Post Care instructions. Thank you for understanding. ❤️ Please Note: We do not offer refunds on cosmetic tattoos (permanent makeup). Cosmetic tattooing is an art, not a science. Results are 50% artist & 50% client aftercare, skin type and other factors that vary per client (medications, health conditions, skincare products used and more). There is no guarantee of exact results and we do not offer refunds on services rendered. Your happiness is important to us and we are here to answer any questions you may have. ❤️We look forward to designing your new permanent makeup. Creatively, KM Permanent Cosmetics Academy
  • Do I need a consultation?
You do not need to book a separate consultation for Permanent Makeup. Consultations (online, email or in-person) are only required for Scalp Micropigmentation, Scars/Stretch Marks and 3D Areola Tattoos. Most of the time, they aren't required for Permanent Makeup. If a style you've requested requires a virtual consultation, we will contact you to let you know. For Permanent Makeup appointments, consultation and procedures are done during the same appointment, simply book the service you would like. Before beginning your procedure, we will discuss your desires, skin type, color and style options and answer any questions you may have. 📍Note: If you have previous Permanent Makeup, you MUST send us a full face photo before booking even if it is very old/faded.
  • Is it painful?
Great question! Your comfort is very important to us. We apply a highly effective, medical grade numbing cream before & during your procedure. Most clients are completely comfortable and relaxed during their appointment. Many brow clients even enjoy a nap during their service. For your added comfort, feel free to dress comfy, bring a blanket (no pillows, please) and/or earphones to listen to your favorite music, podcast or audiobook.
  • Will I Need A Touch Up?
Yes, the touch up is for applying additional color & finishing touches to the design and to make any desired changes. Most clients require 2 sessions (initial appointment + touch up) to have their makeup perfected. Occasionally addtional sessions are needed depending on skin type, aftercare and other factors. The touch up is typically done around 6 weeks after the first session but can be completed any time between 1-3 months after the first session. The 1-3 Month Touch Up is $99. We suggest annual Touch Ups. Getting a yearly color boost is the best way to keep your Permanent Makeup looking fresh. Every client is unique, some may need touch ups more often than others and some may not need more color for a couple years. This can vary depending on skin type, lifestyle and personal preference (some clients prefer more vibrant color, some love soft & natural). Please Note: Some anti-aging products that encourage skin cell turnover such as retinol or glycolic acid and aggressive skin treatments such as lasers, chemical peels, dermabrasion, etc... can cause premature color fading. Botox and fillers are approved as long as they are at least 4 weeks before or 4 weeks after permanent makeup. More information available about touch ups, the healing process and tips for best results on our Pre & Post Care page:
  • I have previous Permanent Makeup/Microblading. Am I still a candidate?
If you have previous permanent makeup, you MUST send us a clear, full face photo before booking so that we can confirm you are a candidate (even if it's very old or faded). We check previous work for many things including: symmetry, color saturation, color shifting, scar tissue, proper placement and more. Please make sure that the photo is full face, facing and looking straight forward with a very relaxed face so that our computer can take proper symmetry measurments. We do specialize in color and shape corrections but not all previous permanent makeup can be covered, corrected or retain new ink properly without laser removal first. About 50% of new clients with previous permanent makeup are not candidates (until the previous work is removed). Touch Up prices are for current clients and based on how long it's been since your last appointment with us. New service prices and Specials are for all new clients (with and without previous permanent makeup). This is because working over another artist's work requires more time and skill than working on virgin skin to make the work blend seamlessly. Different artists use different techniques, pigments and products. Very often measurement and color corrections also need to be made. After your first appointment with us, you are eligble for Touch Up prices for that service.
  • Rescheduling & Cancelation Policy
We ask that you provide us with at least 48 hours notice for cancellations/rescheduling. Last minute cancellations/rescheduling (less than 48 hours prior to scheduled appointment) and No-Call/No-Shows (showing up more than 15 minutes late or not at all) will be charged 50% of the price of the service(s) booked. No Exceptions. Showing up more than 15 minutes late may not leave enough time for your service and your appointment may need to be rescheduled. Late cancellations may result in a nonrefunable $100 deposit required to book any future appointments. No-Shows may be denied future appointments. There are no fees to cancel/reschedule with at least 48+ hours notice. *We reserve the right to deny appointment requests for anyone who excessively cancels/reschedules the same appointment* 😊Please be courteous to artists and clients on the waitlist by remembering to cancel/reschedule online or let us know as soon as possible. We are always happy to assist. We don't currently require $100 non-refundable appointment deposits and would love to keep it that way for everyone. Thank you for understanding that our time is valuable. 💗
  • Can I bring my children/friends?
Due to insurance policies, please do not bring children, friends or guests unless needed for language translation assistance.
  • What is the difference between Permanent Makeup & Traditional Body Art Tattoos?
Great question! The main difference is depth. Your skin is composed of 3 layers: Epidermis, Dermis & Subcutaneous Tissue 🌹Cosmetic Tattoo only goes into the epidermis. The epidermis is always growing towards the top. As your skin cells slough off, so will your permanent makeup. 🌹Permanent Body Art Tattoos go deep into the dermis which is why they last longer. Brows usually need an annual touch up every 1-2 years (depending on skin type) to refresh the color. Eyeliner & Lip Blush can potentially last much longer. ❔Question: Why don't we just place the ink deeper so Permanent Makeup lasts longer? Answer: If you've ever seen anyone with the old fashioned, deep tattooed brows, you'll see that they do not look natural. The color will heal solid, blocky and ashy. The goal for styles like Powder Brows is to create a soft, natural brow that heals true to color. Permanent Makeup softens over time so that you can modify it (color, shape, etc..) as you wish with touch ups. Old fashioned tattoo brows (which we do not do) do not fade beautifully over time, they often shift colors to unnatural cool tones and require laser removal.
